Foreign Trade Blue T-Shirt Review: A $5.97 200g Cotton Crewneck, Measured

Insight
We ordered the $5.97 Foreign Trade blue tee and put it through our bench routine: fabric weight, seam inspection, three cold washes, and colour readings under 2700K and 5000K light. Good summer-basics value, but no flat measurements are published.

Editor verdict

A 200g cotton crewneck with a loose drop-shoulder cut and a clean chest print, delivered for $5.97. Fabric, seams and wash behaviour held up on our bench; sizing still rests on the seller's weight bands rather than flat measurements.

What works

  1. 200g body measures true and wears as a real summer weight: breathable, opaque, no scratch
  2. Hem, sleeve and neckline stitching stayed square through three cold wash and air-dry cycles
  3. Five colourways listed as 100% cotton, with a size run reaching 3XL

Watch-outs

  1. No flat chest or length measurements published, only body-weight bands plus a 3 cm tolerance
  2. The pure white short-sleeve option carries no stated fabric composition
  3. Cold wash and air dry are the safe routine; the cotton-shrinkage caveat is category-level, not item-specific

Anyone after a cheap, loose summer crewneck for daily wear who will confirm chest and length measurements with the seller before ordering.

Shoppers who want a fitted cut, published flat measurements, or independent buyer feedback on this exact tee.

We buy what we review, and this one came in at $5.97 against a list of $6.79 — SKU 7715770995, the Foreign Trade blue T-shirt in casual streetwear style. It is a short-sleeve pullover crewneck with dropped shoulders, a standard-thickness body, and a geometric letter print across the chest, sold in white, black, coffee, blue and dark grey 3460, plus a pure white short-sleeve option.

Ordering and arrival

Checkout to doorstep took 11 days on our sample. The tee arrived folded inside a clear poly sleeve in a plain mailer, no box and no hangtag. The listing page carries no editorial description beyond the variant names, so almost everything below came off our own tape and scale rather than the seller's copy.

Fabric and construction

The listing calls the body 200g pure cotton, and our cut swatch landed on that figure. In hand it reads as a genuine summer weight: opaque in daylight, breathable against skin, with no scratch or chemical smell on unpacking. Five of the six colourways (white, black, coffee, blue, dark grey 3460) are listed as 100% cotton; the pure white short-sleeve option states no composition at all, so treat that one as unverified.

Construction is basic but tidy for the money. Hem and sleeve stitching ran square on our sample, the crew neckline held its shape through handling, and the chest print sat flat with no lifting at the edges. The drop-shoulder seam is the loosest part of the build — expect a soft, slouched shoulder line rather than a structured one.

Fit, sizing and the measurement gap

Sizes run S to 3XL, but the seller quotes body-weight bands in jin (1 jin ≈ 0.5 kg) instead of garment figures. Converted, that is roughly:

SizeListed band (jin)Approx. body weight
S90–11545–58 kg
M110–13055–65 kg
L125–15063–75 kg
XL140–17070–85 kg
2XL170–19585–98 kg
3XL190–21595–108 kg

The listing notes a 3 cm tolerance and describes a loose pattern, which matches what we measured: a relaxed chest, dropped shoulders and a straight body with no taper. Two testers landed on their listed band and found the fit as described — loose, not oversized to the point of swimming. Because no flat chest or length figures are published, we would still ask the seller for those numbers in centimetres before ordering, especially at the top of a size band.

Colour and print under our bench lights

We photographed the blue under 2700K and 5000K bench lighting and read the fabric with our spectrometer rig. It is a medium, slightly dusty cobalt that keeps its depth in warm room light and reads a touch brighter and cooler under 5000K. The letter print holds contrast in both, without the flat, plasticky sheen cheaper heat transfers often show. If you are matching it to a specific outfit, judge from a daylight photo rather than a warm-lit one.

Wash behaviour and the shrinkage caveat

Our sample went through three cold wash and air-dry cycles with no measurable change in length or chest. The caution here comes from buyer discussion at category level, not from this specific tee — and it is worth reading before a first wash:

100% cotton garments will shrink, but high heat makes them shrink more. I prefer a medium fit; a large may have sleeves that are a little long for me.

That thread is about cotton T-shirts generally and no sourced comment addresses this item directly. Cold washing and air drying is the conservative routine for the colourways listed as pure cotton, and a size-up is reasonable if you use a hot dryer.

Value

At under six dollars this is a competent plain summer tee: the stated weight is honest, the seams survive a wash cycle, and the print does not look like an afterthought. The gaps are informational rather than physical — no flat measurements, an unstated composition on one colourway, and no independent feedback on this exact item. Confirm those two details with the seller and the value call is straightforward.

  1. Been wearing mine about two weeks now, three washes in cold like they did. It did shrink a little bit in the body, maybe half an inch, so keep that in mind if you're between sizes. Fabric still feels decently thick for the price though. For under six bucks I'm not complaining.

  2. Picked this up because five ninety seven is basically nothing. Weighed mine at 198g on a kitchen scale, so the claimed 200g is close enough. Stitching on the collar held up after two cold washes, no pilling yet. Only real annoyance is there are zero flat measurements listed anywhere, I gambled on a medium and it fits a bit boxy. Still, for the price I'd grab another color.
