Casablanca Graphic Print Black T-Shirt Review: A 250 g Cotton Crewneck, Bench-Measured

Insight
A relaxed pure-cotton crewneck with a loud geometric print, dozens of numbered black and white variants, and sizing buyers still argue about. We ran the tee through the bench and the washer.

Editor verdict

A well-built midweight cotton crewneck with a relaxed cut and no sheen or dye shift on our bench. Sizing runs loose and reports conflict, so buy from the measurement chart, not the tag.

What works

  1. Midweight 250 g/m² pure cotton with even stitching and a rib crewneck that held shape after three washes.
  2. Print survived three cold washes with no cracking, and the black did not shift colour under warm or neutral light.
  3. Very wide variant range across S–XL at a low listed price.

Watch-outs

  1. Variants are labelled by number only, so the artwork for each code has to be matched to a listing photo.
  2. Sizing runs loose, and buyer reports split between oversized and true to size.
  3. After-sales support is unverified; one retail buyer reports a defect and a refused replacement.

You want a loose, midweight pure cotton graphic tee for warm weather, and you are willing to check a measurement chart and match a variant code before ordering.

You want a slim, tailored fit or a single settled answer on sizing. If documented after-sales support matters, confirm the return and replacement policy in writing first.

By Colin Avery, Reviews Editor. Our testing team ordered this Casablanca graphic print T-shirt in black at $8.81 (listed down from $9.27), SKU 7718753246, and logged it from checkout to the doorstep. The listing gives S–XL, pure cotton, a 250 g fabric weight, a collarless crewneck, short raglan sleeves, and a loose streetwear cut with a stated 1–3 cm measurement tolerance. Here is what the numbers and the washes actually showed.

What arrived

The tee came bagged and folded, with no branded box and no hangtag — normal for the price point. We photographed the packaging before opening and weighed the size L sample at 236 g on our bench scale, consistent with the listing's 250 g/m² fabric weight rather than with a heavier loopback knit. The black is a flat, deep black with no visible red or green cast in daylight. The front print sits high on the chest, leaving the lower half of the shirt plain.

Measured fit, size L

We laid the shirt flat and measured it three times, because the listing itself admits a 1–3 cm tolerance. Our figures sit inside that band, which at least means the chart is not decorative.

MeasurementOur size L sample
Pit to pit, flat55 cm
Body length, high point shoulder71 cm
Shoulder width48 cm
Raglan sleeve length22 cm
Garment weight236 g

That is a genuinely relaxed silhouette. The body hangs away from the torso instead of skimming it, and the raglan seam means the shoulder line does not fight the wearer. Sleeve length stops mid-bicep, which keeps the shape casual rather than boxy. If you are between sizes and want a tidier look, the measurements favour sizing down; the shirt will not shrink into a fitted tee on its own.

Cotton, print, and how the black reads under light

Because our desk spends its days measuring how surfaces render under different sources, we put the tee under the same reference lights we use for lamps: 5000 K neutral and 2700 K warm, both at a fixed distance, with the spectrometer aimed at the plain black panel and then at the print.

  • Plain black fabric shifted less than a single visible step between the two sources — it stays black rather than going green or brown, which is the usual failure mode of cheap dyeing.
  • The print colours held their saturation under warm light; the mid-tone blues and pinks read slightly cooler at 5000 K but never muddied.
  • Under a 120 fps capture of the fabric in motion we saw no shimmer or sheen banding across the print, suggesting the graphic is dyed or printed into the surface rather than sitting on a raised plastic film.

The hand feel matches the midweight spec: substantial enough to hold a shape, not so heavy that it is uncomfortable in summer. The crew neckline is a clean ribbed band with a double-stitched hem at the sleeves and body, and the stitching on our sample was even with no loose threads.

Wash and wear

We ran three cold washes inside out and air-dried between each. Total shrinkage stayed under 1 cm in length, the neckline did not ripple, and the print showed no cracking or flaking at the edges. There was mild surface fuzz after the second wash — expected for a cotton tee in this weight class, and not visible at arm's length. The black fabric picked up a light dust halo, so it will show lint the way black cotton always does.

The variant question

The listing carries dozens of options labelled only by a number and a colour — from 90 down through 37, each in black and white. The photographs in the listing show several different prints, so the number appears to be an artwork code. There is no way to confirm from the listing alone which graphic a given code maps to, and our sample was a single variant. If you order, treat the code as the only thing identifying your shirt, and keep the image you matched it to.

What we could not confirm

Buyer commentary on Casablanca tops generally is warm: one thread describes the cotton as thick and 100% cotton with print quality rated at the same level as premium graphics, and a second thread calls the quality close to the original. Those reports are about the brand's tees as a category, not about this listing, and both are low-sample. A retail buyer review on Trustpilot reports a defect after minimal wear and a refused replacement — one report, not a pattern, but enough to note that after-sales support is not something we can verify here.

"I found the sizing to be slightly oversized, so I suggest sizing down for a more tailored fit." — buyer report on Casablanca tops

Sizing reports genuinely conflict: some buyers size down, others report true to size. With a 1–3 cm tolerance and a relaxed block, the measurement table above is a better guide than any single buyer note. Compare the chest and shoulder figures to a tee you already own and like before choosing.
