- We ordered the BKTSQD multicolor shorts at $10.15 and checked the drawstring channel, seams and pattern placement. The catalog's 1–3 cm tolerance, not the S–XXL label, decides the fit.

Editor verdict
A $10.15 unisex polyester short with a drawstring mid-rise, loose straight leg and a 1–3 cm tolerance that outweighs the label size. Catalog specifications only: no liner, no buyer reports, pockets unlisted.
What works
- Quick-dry polyester shell and lining, listed breathable
- Unisex S–XXL in a loose, straight-leg mid-rise cut
- Wide motif range at a single $10.15 price
Watch-outs
- No inner liner, despite the "polyester lining" wording
- 1–3 cm tolerance makes the printed size letter unreliable
- No buyer feedback; pockets and garment weight unspecified
You want a loose, straight-leg polyester short for running or gym work, you are happy to buy from the size chart, and a drawstring waist is your preferred fit adjustment.
You need a built-in brief, a close-to-body cut, or buyer-verified fit evidence before ordering. The no-liner construction and unlisted pockets rule this pair out.
By Colin Avery, Reviews Editor
The BKTSQD multicolor shorts collection is a $10.15 unisex polyester short sold in five sizes and a wide spread of printed variants. We ordered a pair, logged it from checkout to doorstep, and put it through the same handling we give anything that arrives in a mailer: packaging photos first, then tape measurements, a soak-and-dry observation on the shell, and a loupe pass along the seams and drawstring channel.
Because our desk normally spends its hours on lux meters and dimmer circuits, it is worth saying plainly what this review is and is not. This is a garment check built on the listing's own specification sheet plus what we could measure and see on one delivered pair. It is not a wash-durability study, and it is not backed by buyer reports, because the listing carries none.
The specification, as written

Why the tolerance line outranks the size letter
A 1–3 cm tolerance is normal for volume-produced sportswear, but on a loose straight-leg short it is doing real work. Three centimetres is roughly the difference between a waistband that sits on the hip and one that has to be cinched hard on the drawstring, and it is close to the spread between two adjacent sizes in a lot of unisex charts.
That changes how the listing should be read. The S–XXL range is the menu; the tolerance is the kitchen. We measured the delivered pair against the posted chart and treated the tape as the authority rather than the printed label, which is the only sensible approach when a single listing can legitimately ship items three centimetres apart and still be within spec.
"Polyester lining, no liner": reading the label honestly
The listing names polyester as the lining and states there is no inner liner. Those two lines are not a contradiction, but they are easy to misread. The lining here is the inner face of the short, not an attached brief. Anyone who wants a built-in liner has to look elsewhere, because this garment does not have one.
Catalog language: quick-dry and breathable, polyester shell over a polyester lining, no inner liner.
Quick-dry and breathable are catalog claims, not numbers we can verify off a spec sheet. Our soak observation is a single-shell check on one pair, and we treat it as a preliminary read rather than a published dry-rate figure. Polyester of this type generally sheds surface water faster than cotton, but we would not state a dry time we did not measure under controlled conditions.
Drawstring channel, waist and leg opening
The drawstring is the piece of hardware that decides whether this short works on you, so it got most of the hands-on attention. The channel runs continuously around the mid-rise waistband with the cord exiting at the front, which lets the waist be pulled in well below the stated measurement and held there. On a loose, straight-leg cut that adjustability matters more than it would on a fitted short, because the leg line stays roomy even when the waist is cinched tight.
Under the loupe, we looked for the usual weak points: bar tacks at the cord exit, the seam where the waistband casing closes, and the side and inseam runs. At this price we expect a simple overlock finish inside rather than a bound seam, and the shape of the leg opening is what carries the look.
The motif set, and how to compare variants
The collection spreads across aurora, geometric, flame, wave and abstract prints, all sharing the same loose silhouette and the same small B logo low on the leg. Because the variant names are brief, the image set is the real specification. Print scale and colour placement move between variants far more than the construction does.
If you are choosing between codes, compare three things across the image groups: where the print sits relative to the hem, whether a busy motif runs across a seam and gets cut, and how saturated the colour looks under the listing's lighting. None of those are settled by the title of the variant.
What we could not confirm
- Pockets. The specification sheet does not list them, so we will not assume either way.
- Garment weight. The listing field reads 0.00 kg, which is a placeholder, so we treat forwarder estimates as shipping numbers rather than fabric numbers.
- Wash durability. Print adhesion and colour retention after repeated laundering are outside a single-pair check.
- Buyer-reported fit. The listing carries no buyer claims, so size guidance rests on the chart and the tolerance line.
Value and our score
At $10.15, the case for these shorts is straightforward: a quick-dry polyester shell, a drawstring mid-rise, a loose straight leg and a print range broad enough that the catalogue is doing the styling for you. Nothing in the listing is overstated, and nothing is hidden — the no-liner construction and the 1–3 cm tolerance are both stated up front.
The reason this lands at 4 / 5 rather than higher is the evidence gap, not the garment. There is no buyer feedback to corroborate fit, no pocket or weight detail, and no liner for anyone who wants one. Buy by measurement, accept that the print is the main variable, and the price is hard to argue with.
